Virtual Interior Design

Updated: Sep 25

Hello!

As summer draws to an end and life starts to slow down a bit more, we finally have a chance to look around the house and notice things our summer brains didn't see. The outdated, mismatching, cluttered home we ignored for beach days and Sunday fundays by the pool...

The question I have been hearing a lot lately is "what is the benefit of virtual design?".

Virtual design is the number one most quickly growing interior design trend for the last few years! And it MAKES SENSE! Amazon isn't a brick and mortar store and it is the #1 most shopped place to date. You can buy your groceries online without fear that someone will select a terrible produce item for you, don't you think someone with the right knowledge and experience can purchase a chair or sofa online for you?

Um...YES!

Virtual design is just that easy! You don't have to worry about setting meetings or going store to store to test sofas because we do all of that for you. Not only that but it can be done on your pace which I think is the number one benefit all my clients see. We all lead very busy lives so if you want to work on your project over a glass of wine at 9pm, great! (Me too!)

For me, virtual design is very organized, well thought out and precise. I like to start with a questionnaire detailing what my clients want, need, and desire so that we can combine all of those wishes into a design that is functional and aesthetically pleasing. Once we are able to create a layout needed and major furniture is selected, I design either a 2D concept board or a 3D rendering so we can see what all of the elements in the design look like together. After that I create a shopping list and detail how items should be placed, hung and painted.

One of my favorite room designs looked something like this...

This Joanna Gaines inspired dinning room took 2-3 weeks to complete from introduction to completion and had a budget of $5k.

You can't judge it until you try it! Let's see what we can create ;)

All the best,

Tera
