Behr's Blank Canvas

"Blank Canvas straddles the line between past and future, and offers a meditation on the present. In a world full of tumultuous headlines that feel like daily devastations, Blank Canvas feels like a deep exhale of calm and creativity. Erika Woelfel, Behr’s vice president of color and creative services, described the hue as 'that perfect artistic color for people to start expressing their creativity.'"

Sherwin-Williams' Redend Point

"While it can serve as a grounding anchor in a room, Redend Point feels cozier and more inviting than traditional white or eggshell, making it the ultimate choice for people who love the classics, but are craving something new. 'Redend Point was inspired by the idea of finding beauty beyond ourselves. It is a heartening hue that invites compassion and connection into any space,' said Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams in a press release. 'The color is a natural choice for those looking for a warm and joyful neutral in both interiors and exteriors. I can't wait to see how consumers play with it and style their spaces.'"

Benjamin Moore's Raspberry Blush

"A saturated red-orange that enlivens our surroundings while awakening our senses with charismatic color. This vivacious color is unapologetic in its boldness as it encourages a confident color statement. 'People are ready to bring color back into the home, taking a step outside their color comfort zones,' said Andrea Magno, Color Marketing & Development Director at Benjamin Moore."

Pantone's Viva Magenta

"The Pantone Color Institute says, 'a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength.' Other words the company uses to characterize the color — and, by extension, the current cultural moment — include powerful, empowering, electrifying, boundaryless, audacious and inclusive. 'Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, and a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative.'"

Dunn Edwards' Terra Rosa

"As a part of Dunn-Edwards’ Life in Poetry color palette, Terra Rosa is just one shade in a family of hues that, according to the brand, represent 'a vacation that lasts all year long, embracing a relaxed summertime lifestyle.' Terra Rosa would be a great pop of color and warmth in almost any room, but some favorites for the Dunn-Edwards' team are bedrooms, bathrooms, dining areas, and outdoors."

Valspar's 12 Color Palette

"'I believe that the colors are part of our core memory, reflecting the essence of the sensorial experience,' says Sue Kim, color marketing manager at Valspar. 'The colors we choose for our home reflect how we want to capture those positive moments and make them a lasting experience at home,' she explains. With 12 colors in total, the 2023 Valspar Colors of the Year palette ranges from familiar shades of creamy white to warm earth tones to reliable shades of blue. This versatile palette means you'll find inspiration no matter your design style. The best part: if you're an indecisive decorator, just let your mood—rather than your eye—guide the way. "

Graham & Brown's Alizarin

"Alizarin is ideal for creating an inviting living space in the home. While it's dark enough to bring depth to a room, the all-embracing hue also provides a creative alternative to neutral grey and beige shades. It can be used in small spaces to create a cocooning effect or in larger rooms to transform the space into an opulent abode. Deep and moody, yet refreshingly warm, Alizarin highlights the beauty found in natural earthy tones, encapsulating the best russet reds and spicy terracotta shades."

Krylon's Spanish Moss

"'Many of us find great comfort in the natural world,' said Ashley Banbury, Krylon senior color designer. 'Spanish Moss embodies consumers’ ongoing fascination with caring for and enjoying the environment and speaks to the sustainability movement as well. It’s inspiring at-home creatives, while offering a dose of nostalgia and familiarity at the same time. Historically, green has inspired homeowners both indoors and out, and today, it continues to deliver a renewed and contemporary look to heritage pieces.' The heritage trend style is increasingly growing in popularity, according to the company. The color is typically seen on upcycled, recycled, vintage and antique furnishings, and it inspires do-it-yourselfers’ to create inviting spaces full of comforting personal touches."

Dutch Boy's Rustic Greige

"With homeowners craving simplicity and serenity in their spaces, Dutch Boy Paints unveiled Rustic Greige, a charming neutral, as its 2023 Color of the Year. 'The importance of overall well-being remains a primary focus in everyday lives,' says Ashley Banbury, senior color designer at Dutch Boy Paints. 'Dutch Boy Paints' 2023 One-Coat Color of the Year is all about the need to escape, relax, and recharge. It's about retreating to a calmer, simpler lifestyle inspired by the peace and clarity of tones derived from nature.' The medium-toned neutral color with a slight red undertone is versatile, complementing both warm and cool color tones, as well as existing wood furniture and fixtures in both interior and exterior spaces."
